What are "Bone" Statues?

Here at T&C Imports we strive to deliver the highest quality product possible. We personally hand select our entire inventory inspecting each piece to ensure its quality and craftsmanship.

These beautiful statues are developed through a rather complex process. 
The statues are made of a mixture of cattle bone and a special mix of epoxy resins.

The bone is cleaned and sanitized then crushed into a fine gritty powder. The molds also need to be developed and prepared so the epoxy won't stick to the mold. When the mold is ready the powder is then mixed with the epoxy resins into a smooth, even consistency. The mix is then poured into the mold, tamped to help remove air bubbles then set aside and allowed several hours to harden.

Once the mix is set, the mold is removed and the finishing process begins with removing any "flashing" (mix that seeped between the seams of the mold), grinding the base for level setting, attaching parts, and cleaning up the surface for either shipping or go to the painting department.

Painting the statues is a process of spraying the largest part of each statue the following up by hand painting the details and intricate parts. This allows for each statue to be just a little different than next. Once the paint is dry the painted statues are ready for shipping with the non-painted statues.
